The 35U began with a vision to inspire the leaders of tomorrow by telling them about the leaders of today. With millions of people involved in government, education, business and community service across the country, it sometimes may be hard for the 35U to connect to leaders individually simply due to an age barrier. The 35U to us is any young adult from the ages of 18-35 in this country. These individuals have a voice – they can vote, serve, and most importantly, they can make a difference for future generations.
Today’s Q&A feature is Roosevelt Merisier, CEO of FNO Production Company LLC. FNO Productions has created multiple platforms in the south Florida community for up and coming Filmmakers , Musicians, Comedians and Poets to showcase their talents. Roosevelt works with local high school sports programs to create memorable stories that the youth will remember for the rest of their lives.
Roosevelt Merisier is an inspiration to the youth that want to get involved in entrepreneurship and leadership.
We caught up with Roosevelt to find out what leadership means to him and what advice he would give to the next generation of leaders.
Why did you choose this career path?
I chose this career path due to my passion for inspiring the people to be great. I want everyone to be passionate about something that they love and live life to the fullest.
Who inspired you to get involved?
I inspired myself to get involved. I was at a low point in my life where I was just not happy with my life. I was content and comfortable with my former career and never thought about doing anything else. I was sitting on my talents for many years and I got a spark one day and that changed my life and I never looked back.
How do you define a leader?
A leader to me is an individual that wants the best for everyone and will make sure of that by inspiring everyone around him. For example. I created my brand. FNO Productions. (Failures No Option). The name of the brand is just so powerful that individuals gravitate towards what I’m building. I take action and lead. I have a tribe of supporters that believe in everything that I do and I’m extremely grateful for that. I live to inspire and that’s the definition of a leader.
What projects are you currently involved in?
I’m actually working on quite a few projects. I’m working on a Docuseries for the Broward College men’s basketball team. The life of a Juco basketball product. Just giving the audience a glimpse of what a Juco basketball athlete goes through. It’s an extremely powerful project and I can’t wait to share that with the Community. I’m also working on a big feature film project on Domestic violence titled the Rebirth. I produced the project and I can’t wait to release to the public. Everything that I do serves a greater purpose. I want to always make sure that I’m leaving an impact to inspire and to form the next generation of Filmmakers.
What advice would you give to the next generation of leaders who want to get involved?
I would tell the next generation of Leaders is to stay focused. Stray away from distractions. Be willing to learn and be willing to teach after you learn. Be around individuals that inspire you to be great. Plan and always execute even when the task gets hard. The ultimate goal is to never give up no matter what the circumstances are. The universe knows how much work you put in and will bless you in return. Failures No option. One love.
